Lauren completed her BSc in Forensic Psychology at London South Bank University and went on to complete her MSc in Forensic Psychology at Portsmouth University. She was first put into contact with Dr Jaimee Mallion the year before starting her PhD.

Jaimee introduced her to the Good Lives Model (GLM). She worked as a research assistant for Jaimee on a project around the GLM and assisted dying and, a short while later, agreed upon a PhD project which included the GLM, this time utilising it to assist an addiction population.
